The Up-East Vermont Chamber of Commerce was formed:
To promote local resources, points of interest, activities, and economic opportunities, and to get
people off the highways to investigate the byways - our small towns and villages.
The Up-East Vermont community is one of the fastest growing areas; building permits and population have risen and new businesses are seeing the potential here. Besides the unique rural character, we have four international border crossings, are located within traveling distance of the big US and Canadian cities, and have many year-round activities that are an attraction to both visitors and residents. Small businesses are critical to our local economy and strengthening the up-east community will promote local resources, points of interest, activities, and economic opportunities.
After conducting a feasibility study in Derby, Holland, Morgan, Charleston, Norton, and Canaan with overwhelming positive results, the idea became a project reality. Our office and information center are located at 3197 US Rte 5, beside Cinta's Bake Shop.
