Summer Winter

Sunny days and shorter nights bring folks out and about for hiking, biking, walking, and for visits to the lakes and forest campsites. Up-east Vermont has many lakes, rivers, and streams that are conducive to canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. A ramble around the many back roads offers lush countryside views and vistas, yard and garage sales, and working farmsteads as the summer breezes bring the smell of new-mown hay and fresh cut grass.

Farmer’s markets, country fairs, community days, gallery exhibits, outdoor theaters, crafts fairs, and museum and historical society exhibits are summer activities. Bird watching and moose viewing - antiquing and shopping - golfing or tennis - museums or art galleries - all are available in up-east Vermont communities. Then spend a relaxing evening in a front porch rocking chair at one of the many bed and breakfasts or inns.
